Synopsis:
My litigation experience has been varied and extensive. I have run hundreds of criminal, traffic, bond, domestic violence, felony preliminary hearing and jury court calls. I have tried countless bench and jury trials. Among my many positions, I have been the lead domestic violence and jury room attorney in District 2- Skokie; felony review, felony preliminary hearing, felony grand jury, misdemeanor and bond attorney.
With each position, I showed a wide flexibility with responsibilities including trying cases; negotiating pleas; arguing motions; obtaining/preparing discovery and witnesses; expungements; research, scheduling, grand jury presentation; interrogating suspects, taking written statements, attending victim-sensitive interviews, approving/rejecting criminal charges, testifying in felony court cases, developing/maintaining positive relationships with law enforcement, and expert instruction of less experienced lawyers. In the child support division, I established paternity, calculated child support payments and enforced these obligations recovering vast sums for children and custodial parents.
My duties as a prosecutor also included community outreach and training. I instructed at the Evanston Citizens' Police Academy.
